New Forest Pony Breeding & Cattle Society Awards Daughter Stud Book to
New Forest Pony Society of North America

Hamilton, MT – March 19, 2007 – The New Forest Pony Society of North America (NFPSNA) announced today that it has been awarded the status of “Daughter Stud Book” by the New Forest Pony Breeding & Cattle Society (NFPB&CS), the Mother Stud Book for the breed of New Forest Ponies in England and Wales. The award allows the New Forest Pony Society of North America to register and record New Forest Ponies in accordance with the rules of the Mother Stud Book.

“To have been awarded ‘Daughter Stud Book’ status by England is by far the most exciting time in our growing organization’s three-year history,” said Priscilla Hawkyard, president of the NFPSNA. “It is an honor and a privilege to register full-bred and cross-bred New Forest Ponies under the leadership and guidance of the Mother Stud Book in England.”

Recognition of ‘Daughter Stud Book’ status was announced in the NFPB&CS annual report. Today, the NFPSNA is the only ‘Daughter Stud Book’ in North America recognized by England. Members of the NFPSNA will now be able to register their New Forest Ponies easily and properly in North America without additional mailing and currency exchange expenses. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer this service to our members,” added Hawkyard.
